GRANVILLE, Ohio -- For all but eight minutes The College of Wooster field hockey team and Denison University played to no advantage at all. Yet, it was within those eight minutes that Denison scored all three of their goals to defeat the Fighting Scots 3-0 on Friday.

Denison's attack was relentless once Alyssa Bahel broke through for the Big Red's first goal in the 28th minute. Sixty-four seconds later Lucy Pearsall scored to make it 2-0. Then with :01 remaining on the clock in the first half, Rachel Kelsey deflected one in to put Denison ahead 3-0 at halftime.

The entire second half went scoreless. Wooster had more chances in the half but could not capitalize on the opportunities.

Just like in the prior meeting where Denison won 2-0 and outshot the Scots 25-1, Denison controlled the majority of the game on their offensive end.

Denison outshot the Scots this time 17-4, including a 14-0 first half. They also held the penalty corner advantage 8-5. All five of Wooster's corners came in the second half.

The Big Red did not have trouble finding their mark, but goalie Katie Shideler performed admirably, registering nine saves in the cage. Teya Adams made two saves for Denison via shots on goal by Erika Womack and Harriet Sudduth.

Denison is now 11-2 overall and still undefeated in the North Coast Athletic Conference at 9-0. Wooster drops to 10-3 overall and 6-3 in NCAC play.

The Scots travel to Wittenberg tomorrow. Wooster won the first meeting 3-2.
