LEXINGTON, Ky. – First-year Jill Murray broke a 1-1 tie early in the fourth quarter for The College of Wooster field hockey team to defeat Transylvania 2-1 on Saturday.

An unusual slow start for the squad resulted in a 1-0 halftime deficit after Emma Uhls scored in the ninth minute of the game.

Luckily for the Scots, Sydney Schuster was able to find the back of the cage in the 39th minute, and that momentum carried into Murray's goal in the 46th minute.

It was Murray's first collegiate goal, while Schuster scores her second of the year.

Katie Shideler collected two saves to improve to 2-0.

Wooster outshot Transylvania 15-4, which included a 9-1 second half. Wooster also took 10 penalty corners to Transylvania's two.

Wooster moves to 2-0, while Transylvania drops to 1-2. Wooster travels to Centre for a noon start time on Sunday.
