Scots Pull Away in Four-Goal Fourth to Defeat Falcons 6-2

Sophomore Katie Agatucci was involved in every score on Sunday as The College of Wooster field hockey team defeated Concordia University of Wisconsin 6-2.

Agatucci finished with nine points on three goals and three assists and led the Scots on a decisive fourth period which they outscored the Falcons 4-1. It was Agatucci's first multi-goal game.

After a scoreless first, both teams found the back of the cage in the second period. Donna Pitock opened scoring for the Falcons, while Wooster tied it with 30 seconds remaining in the half as Agatucci led first-year Jill Murray for the score.

Agatucci immediately gave the Scots control coming out of the half when she received a pass from junior Sydney Schuster from the top of the circle to score her first goal of the season.

Wooster kept the 2-1 lead heading into the fourth before Agatucci and Caitlyn O'Connor traded goals within a minute of one another.

Concordia Wisconsin got one back in the 53rd minute, but Agatucci found Maggie Brown a minute later for her first goal of the season. Two minutes later, Agatucci concluded scoring with a spin to break free and hat trick for the game. 

Agatucci upped her season point total to 10 to tie with O'Connor for the team lead. O'Connor leads the team with five goals.

Goalkeeper Katie Shideler made four saves in cage for the win. Wooster outshot the Falcons 13-9 and held the penalty corner advantage 5-3.

Wooster improves to 3-3, while Concordia of Wisconsin drops to 2-4. The Scots return home Thursday when they take on Kenyon College in a non-conference game.
