WOOSTER, Ohio -- A quick response to The College of Wooster's first goal was the difference Saturday as Ohio Wesleyan University defeated the Scots 2-1.

When Wooster finally got on the board in the 64th minute to tie the game 1-1, the Battling Bishops got the lead right back in the 69th minute and held on for the win.

The game-winner was a header by Brady Whittekind after a long throw in from Ryan Huelsman.

Prior, the Battling Bishops scored in the 31st minute as Adam Yingling scored on a strike from the right side to give Ohio Wesleyan a 1-0 lead entering halftime.

When Wooster tied it up in the second half, it was by a beauty of a cross from Manny Burton as Bennett Anderson finished for his second goal of the season.

As time winded down, the Scots had a couple of chances to tie it up again, including a late try by Anderson in the 85th minute. However, Ohio Wesleyan effectively slowed down the game and ate away much of the clock as possible.

The Bishops outshot the Scots 12-7. J.P. Baughman made two saves for Ohio Wesleyan, while Will Collis made four for the Scots.

The Bishops, now 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, haven't lost to Wooster since 2004. Wooster dropped to 4-4-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the NCAC.

Wooster returns Saturday when they host Wittenberg in NCAC action.
