Men’s Soccer Captures First Win of 2019

The College of Wooster men's soccer team won its first game and gave Washington & Jefferson its first loss with a 1-0 victory on Saturday.

After being held scoreless in their first two games, Wooster broke their scoring drought in the 21st minute. Max Rochester led Bennett Anderson down the field who prevailed in a one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper.

The sophomore Anderson notched two goals last year and is already halfway to that mark three games into the season.

Wooster had control for most of the game, outshooting the Presidents 17-4. Wooster also held the corner kick advantage 3-2.

Keeper Will Collis made one save in the shutout.

Wooster improves to 1-2, while Washington & Jefferson drops to 2-1. The Scots travel to Case Western Reserve University on Sunday.
