HIRAM, Ohio – Junior Andreas Xenofontos's goal in the 17th minute was enough to propel The College of Wooster men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Hiram College on Wednesday.
Xenofontos received a nice pass to lead him on the left side of the field, and he successfully put one in across keeper CJ Keith. It was Xenofontos's team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Neither team could get much going past that point. Both teams took 10 shots, and Wooster took just one more corner kick than Hiram at 5-4.
Senior Will Collis made four saves for the shutout.
Wooster improves to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Hiram moves to 5-6-2 overall and 1-3 in the NCAC.
Next up, Wooster travels to Wittenberg on Saturday.
