The College of Wooster men's tennis team played its first match of the 2012-13 season on Saturday afternoon, and walked away with some positive results, despite ultimately falling 6-3 at Otterbein University.

Playing inside the Clements Recreation Center in Westerville, Ohio, Wooster nearly took a 2-1 lead during the double competition. Sophomore Erik Lindberg and freshman Milo Saurman won their match at No. 3 doubles by an 8-5 score, while Paul Thomas and Jacob Pine lost a tough one at No. 2, 9-7.

Pine, a first-year, responded with a singles victory. After splitting the first two sets 2-6 and 6-2, he took a third-set super tiebreaker 10-5 at the No. 5 position, while junior teammate Zack Rotter also went the distance and won 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4) at the sixth spot. Also of note, freshman Harrison Suttle dropped a hard-fought, three-setter, 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 1-0 (10-8), during his collegiate debut at No. 3 singles.

The Fighting Scots will be in action again next Saturday, hosting Walsh University (0-2) at 11 a.m.
