No. 26 Big Red Defeat Scots 7-2

26th-ranked Denison University downed The College of Wooster men's tennis team 7-2 Saturday at the Aspen Racquet Club.

Alon Liberman was responsible for both of Wooster's wins, pairing up with Joaquin Abos Amo at the No. 2 doubles flight and winning at the No. 2 singles flight.

His singles match against Mitchell Thai was won in three sets. After winning the first set, he lost a close second set but ultimately finished it out 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.

Liberman and Abos Amo won 8-5 in the longest doubles match of the day and put Wooster on the board.

The Scots lost in straight set for the rest of their matchups. Austin Hanna fell 7-5, 7-5 in the No. 3 singles slot, while Nebyou Minassie lost 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 5 flight.

Hanna and Nathan Devereux at the No. 1 doubles flight and the No. 3 team of Jesse DeWitt and Minassie each fell 8-2.

Abos Amo fell 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 1 flight against Vlad Rotnov, who is ranked 12th regionally. Devereux lost 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 4 flight, and DeWitt lost 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 6 slot.

Denison is now 6-4 overall, while Wooster dropst to 5-8. The Scots host Wittenberg University tomorrow at the Aspen Racquet Club.
