The College of Wooster men's tennis team defeated Hope College 5-2 on Friday.
Senior Nathan Devereux had quite an eventful day. First, he and Alon Liberman gave Wooster its first point of the match with an 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles flight.
Devereux then gave Wooster the fifth and deciding point at the No. 3 flight, 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, rebounding after being down 5-0 in the second set. Afterwards, he took care of some business off the court, turning in his I.S.
Wooster went up 2-1 in doubles play, also taking the No. 3 flight 8-5 behind the team of Joaquin Abos Amo and Alex Drewes.
Austin Hanna won to kick things off at singles play in the No. 4 slot, 6-0, 6-2. Liberman then won in three sets at the No. 1 flight, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.
The win puts Wooster at 5-3 on the year. Next, they head to Florida for six games starting with Dallas Baptist University on Monday.
