GRANVILLE, Ohio – The College of Wooster softball team extended their program-best win streak to 12 games with a 3-2 win in game one against Denison University on Saturday, but it was snapped in a 2-1 loss in game two.

It was Wooster's first loss in North Coast Athletic Conference play. It also was their 20th win of the season as they sit at 20-8 overall and 7-1 in the NCAC.

Sophomore Olivia Johnson guided the Scots in game one, allowing just one run and striking out eight in a complete game performance.

The offense backed her up with 10 hits, including a 4-for-4 day from Molly Likins. Likins had two RBI with a RBI single in the first and a run-scoring double in the fifth, which broke a 2-2 tie.

Wooster trailed 2-1 after four innings but benefitted from an error after a single from Grace Randall that scored Kendall Lloyd.

In game two, Wooster collected nine hits but could only bring around one run in the second when Brooke Swain scored on an error.

Denison (12-10, 3-3 NCAC) answered in the bottom of the inning on a home run from Brennah Dutcher. Denison then scored the deciding run in the third on a throwing error by pitcher Marissa Norgrove.

Norgrove, otherwise, had a quality start on the hill, pitching the complete six innings and allowed just one earned run on six hits.

Emmalee Cooke, Gabby Lakes and Marina Roski each collected two hits in the game.

Sunday's doubleheader with Heidelberg University has been postponed to April 28. Wooster hosts Allegheny College in a NCAC doubleheader on Wednesday.
