Offense Explodes as Scots Sweep in Finale

DELAWARE, Ohio -- The College of Wooster softball team racked up 28 hits and ended its final North Coast Athletic Conference series of the season with a sweep over Ohio Wesleyan University in 6-1 and 9-1 wins.

The wins moved the Scots to 25-11 overall and 12-4 in the conference as they locked up the second seed in the upcoming NCAC Tournament. The 25 wins also tied the single-season program record.

Wooster tallied 12 hits in game one and 16 in game two. Molly Likins went 3-for-4 with an RBI in each game.

Likins started the scoring in game one with an RBI single in the first. Lakes, who finished 3-for-4 in game one, followed with an RBI single to give Wooster an early 2-0 lead after one.  

Marina Roski went 2-for-4 which included a sacrifice fly in the third and a three-run home run in the fifth. Kendall Lloyd had a 3-hit performance, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Olivia Johnson collected win 15 with another complete game performance. She struck out four, and her only blemish came via a solo home run in the sixth.

In game two, Wooster broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run fourth. Lloyd and Torrey Totman each collected two-run doubles in the inning and Roski singled through the left side for an RBI to make it 6-1.

The Scots collected five extra base hits in the game. Totman scored another with a sacrifice fly in the seventh for a game-high three RBI.

Marissa Norgrove pitched another complete game for the Scots, allowing just one earned run and striking out four. She moves to 7-6 on the year.

With Sunday's games against Heidelberg University postponed, no remaining regular season games are scheduled for the Scots. Remaining NCAC games will be played out Sunday and game times for the NCAC Tournament will be set after.
