CLEVELAND, Ohio – Six players from The College of Wooster softball team recently earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors, while coach Victoria Rumph was named NCAC Coach of the Year for the first time, the office announced Tuesday.

Junior Marina Roski, sophomore Olivia Johnson and first-year Molly Likins earned first team honors. Sophomore Marissa Norgrove picked up a second team honor, while classmate Emmalee Cooke as well as junior transfer Kendall Lloyd were named honorable mentions.

Roski's bat came alive in the second half of the year as she tied for third in conference games with a .440 average. She also hit one home run and a league-high 14 RBI. It was her third year being recognized by the conference after a first team selection last year and a second team mention in 2017.

The first-year Likins made her mark at the corner infield position and was a couple ticks behind Roski hitting a .429 average with one home run and 12 RBI in conference games.

Both Roski and Likins had similar marks in overall statistics. Each finished with three home runs and 24 RBI, but Roski's .323 average was .002 points higher than Likins' .321 average.

Johnson claimed the final first team spot for the Scots after a breakout year which saw her pitch to the tune of a 9-1 record and a 1.03 ERA in conference games. On the year, Johnson finished 15-6 with a 1.80 ERA with 125 strikeouts, 14 complete games and two saves.

Norgrove, the team's lone second team selection, was 3-3 with a 1.65 ERA in conference games. Overall, she went 8-6 with a 2.17 ERA with 33 strikeouts, five complete games and one save.

Cooke earned an honorable mention as Wooster's leadoff hitter and hit .358 with five RBI and 13 runs scored in conference games. On the year, the sophomore led the team with a slash line of .393/.440/.526, 31 runs and four stolen bases. She also had 17 multiple hit games, which led the team.

Lloyd batted .302 in conference games with five RBI. Overall, she was second on the team with a .364 average and an on-base percentage of .417. She reached base in 21 consecutive games and collected a hitting streak of 15, which were both team-highs on the year.

The all-conference selections were firsts for Johnson, Norgrove, Cooke and Lloyd.

Rumph, in her third season at the helm of the Fighting Scots, coached the Scots to new heights as they set a new single-season program record for wins at 26-13. The Scots finished second in the NCAC but were foiled by Denison University in the conference tournament.

Rumph is the first Wooster coach to earn coach of the year honors since Lori Schimmel collected the award in 2005.

DePauw University, who won the regular season and tournament titles, claimed both Player and Pitcher of the Year honors behind Sidney Holler and Cami Henry, respectively. Oberlin's Cat Moruzzi was named the Newcomer of the Year.
