The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams broke three school records and swam a single NCAA Division III "B" cut during the second day of the Wooster Invitational on Friday.

The men upped their point total to remain in fourth place with 693 points, while the women moved up a spot to third with 745.5 points. Case Western Reserve University is first in both the men's (1278 points) and women's (1,418 points) standings.

Junior Trey Schopen broke two school records Friday in the 100 butterfly (49.02) and 100 backstroke (50.40). He placed first in the 100 back and second in the fly, and his time in the fly was a "B" cut performance.

First-year Molly Likins broke a 20-year-old school record in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.06. Yet, she came in second place just behind Edinboro junior Yana Miletska who swam a time of 1:04.30.

Likins, Kate Murphy, Kalla Sturonas and Brooke Brown finished third in the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:47.61. Sturonas also had a third place showing in the 100 fly (59.15).

Emma Fikse and Nell Kacmarek finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 200 free with times of 1:57.55 and 1:58.95. Madison Whitman was sixth in the 400 IM (4:48.96).

On the men's side, Cameron Gelwicks won the 200 free in a time of 1:41.72. Ryan Campbell was fourth at 1:42.93.

Garrett Layde was ninth (4:17.08) in the 400 IM, and Craig Klumpp was ninth in the 100 breast (1:00.36). Eric Jacques was eighth in the 3-meter diving portion with a total of 299.20.

Gelwicks, Schopen, Campbell and Wyatt Foss raced to a third place finish in the 800 free relay (7:01.89).

The final day of the Wooster Invitational starts with preliminaries at 10 a.m. Saturday. Finals begin at 5 p.m.

Cameron Gelwicks won the 200 free in a time of 1:41.72 on Friday.
