The College of Wooster's Molly Likins won two silver medals and broke four national records at the 2019 World Deaf Swimming Championships, which were contested in Brazil last week.

Likins' first medal came in the 50-meter breaststroke on Tuesday, during which she lowered her USA deaf record to 33.55. On Friday, the medal count doubled when Likins was second to the wall in the 100-meter breaststroke. Likins, who already held the USA deaf record in that event, lowered it even further, this time to 1:14.36.

Later on Friday, Likins swam on USA's fourth-place 4x100 medley relay, which set a new national record at 4:33.98.

On the meet's first day, Likins' fifth-place time of 2:43.69 marked a new national record in the 200-meter breaststroke. She's now a holder of seven national records (four long-course meters and three yards) for events swam at national and international deaf competitions.

Likins has a hearing impairment which leaves her completely deaf without her Cochlear implants. She received her first in her right ear at the age of three and another in her left ear when she was 14.

The two-sport standout earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in the 200 and 400 medley relays and set three school records during her first year swimming at Wooster. This past spring, Likins was an All-NCAC first-team softball selection after batting .429 in conference play.
