Scots Win in Final Dual Meet of Year

BEREA, Ohio -- The College of Wooster men's and women's swimming and diving teams capped off their final dual meet of the year by defeating Baldwin Wallace University. The men won 153-142 and the women came out with a 182-105 victory.

Two top highlights came from Juniors Josh Gluck and Madison Whitman who broke Baldwin Wallace Natatorium records.

Gluck broke a 2004 record with his time of 1:58.52 in the 200 backstroke, beating the previous time of 2:02.20. Whitman swam a 2:28.76 in the 200 breaststroke, topping the previous time of 2:31.25 set in 2006.

The women started off with a win in the 200 medley relay behind the team of Hannah Langer, Molly Likins, Heidi Likins and Lexi Riley-DiPaolo (1:53.25).

Riley-DiPaolo, Kate Murphy, Molly Likins and Megan Gross also gave the Scots the win in the 200 free relay in 1:43.57.

Likins picked up another win in the 50 free with a time of 25.18. Riley-DiPaolo gave Wooster another nine points with a first place time of 56.56 in the 100 free.

Wooster took the top three spots of the 200 free, led by Nell Kacmarek whose first place time came in at 2:04.68.

Mia Chen won the 200 back in 2:17.19.

Lucie Redmann scored a 142.53 and a 177.40 to take first place in both diving portions of the meet.

Whitman also took top honors in the 100 breast with a time of 1:09.77 as well as the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.38. Molly Likins and Veda Massanari-Thatcher finished in second and third.

Craig Klumpp started the Wooster men off right in the 1000 free with a time of 11:09.87 for first place.

Gluck, in addition to winning the 200 back, won the 100 back in 53.27 and the 200 IM in 1:59.67.

Jim Shanahan won by .04 seconds with a time of 22.88 to win the 50 free.

The men concluded the meet with a win in the 200 free relay (1:31.64) thanks to the team of Wyatt Foss, Eli Samuelson, Graham Letkeman and Shanahan.

Up next, the teams will prepare for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships in Granville, Ohio from Feb. 12-15.
