Mike Kocsis

Mike Kocsis is the newest member of The College of Wooster’s swimming and diving coaching staff, having joined the Fighting Scots in early January, 2021.

Most recently, Kocsis was tasked with relaunching the University of Rio Grande’s swimming and diving program, and prior to that, he spent two years heading up Manchester University’s swimming and diving team. Kocsis’ collegiate coaching career started on a high note, as he helped the University of the Cumberlands’ women’s team to a third-place showing at the 2018 NAIA National Championships, while the men’s team placed sixth. During his year as an assistant with the Patriots, the program went a combined 14-0 in dual meets, while the women’s team won the Mid-South Conference title for the fourth consecutive year.

Kocsis, who primarily competed in freestyle and backstroke events at the University of North Dakota, spent five years assisting Grand Forks High School’s program in North Dakota. He holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and health from North Dakota.
