The College of Wooster men's and women's track teams combined for four wins and 18 All-NCAC honors as both teams finished in third of the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
Furthermore, Carolyn Webster was named Women's Field Athlete of the Year, and head coach Dennis Rice was named Men's Coach of the Year.
Wabash took the team title on the men's side with 160 points. Ohio Wesleyan placed second with 121, and Wooster followed with 95 points.
On the women's end, Oberlin separated from the field with 197 points. Ohio Wesleyan followed with 153.
Wooster's 94.9 point total was just enough to put them ahead of Allegheny (93) and Wittenberg (91).
The last time the men came in third was in 2001, while the women's last top three finish came in 1997 when they finished second.
The men's eight All-NCAC performances were the most they've had since 2001 (6). The women's 10 All-NCAC performances were their most since 1994 when they also had 10.
Wooster had one win on Saturday after collecting three earlier from David Westcott (5,000 run) and Carolyn Webster (pentathlon, long jump). First-year William McMichael ran a 50.91 to place first in the 400 run, which was an event Wooster had not won in the NCAC Indoors since 1992.
Also of note, Westcott's win yesterday in the 5,000 run was Wooster's first win in the event since 2001.
Keeping with the men, the 4x200 relay team of Drake Pence, McMichael, Jordan Dennis and Justin Fox placed third and set a new indoor school record at 1:32.35.
Matt Klonowski finished second in the 800 (1:57.83) for an All-NCAC performance. Westcott had another strong showing in the 3,000, finishing second in a time of 8:47.86. Jackson Feinknopf followed him in seventh (9:03.73).
The Scots also received plenty of points in field events. Jack Petrecca's All-NCAC high jump of 6 feet, 4 inches earned him second.
Richie Pajak placed fourth in the high jump at 6 feet, 2 inches; Kristian Coleman placed sixth in the triple jump at 42 feet, 6.75 inches, and Spencer Wilson finished eighth in the weight throw at 48 feet, .5 inches.
in the mile, Brian Lief placed third at 4:26.35 for All-NCAC honors, and Aedan Pettit placed fifth (4:29). Dennis was seventh in the 60 meter hurdles (8.90).
The men finished the meet with a fourth place finish in the 4x400 (3:31.51) behind McMichael, Myles Parker, Matt Olszewski and Lief.
For the women, their own 4x200 relay team of Korri Palmer, Maya Vasta, Claudia Partridge and Akwia Tilton set a new indoor school record at 1:46.22 in their second place finish.
The 4x400 relay team finished the meet by securing the team's position in the standings with a second place race. Emani Kelley, Vasta, Palmer and Tilton ran a 4:12.02.
Tilton also had another second place finish earlier in the 200 dash (26.67).
Webster started the day with a third place showing in the high jump at 5 feet, .5 inches to earn All-NCAC honors. She finished fifth in the 60 hurdles (9.67) and also gained a point with an eighth place finish in the triple jump (34-01.25).
Wooster received All-NCAC honors with a pair of third place finishes behind Vasta in the 400 dash (1:01.20) and Kelley in the 800 run (2:20.93). Palmer was also eighth in the 60 dash (8.28).
In distance, Isabelle Hoover finished sixth in the 3,000 (10:46.32).
Rice's Coach of the Year selection was his third for the indoor season, with his last being a dual winner in 1997.
