The College of Wooster men's and women's track and field teams each stood out in a four-team field to sweep the Kenyon College Spring Invitational on Saturday.

Both teams ran away from its competition. The women totaled 262.5 points, besting Mount Vernon Nazarene's 140.5 second place point total.

The men posted 233 points. Mount Vernon Nazarene was second with 125 points. Denison University and Kenyon finished third and fourth, respectively, in both standings.

Starting with the women, Morgan Kromer won two events. She ran a 13.92 to win the 100 dash as Claudia Partridge finished in second place at 14 seconds.

Kromer collected her second event win in the pole vault, tying teammate Georgia Hopps-Weber for the honor by reaching a height of 10 feet.

Maya Vasta raced to a time of 27.13 to win the 200 as Carolyn Webster finished behind in second (28.77). Akwia Tilton won the 400 dash in 1:00.19, and Emani Kelley won the 800 run in 2:20.53.

Audrey Cordova ran a 1:09.51 to place first in the 400 hurdles, while Webster crossed second in the 100 hurdles (17.46).

Wooster then took both relays. The 4x100 team of Korri Palmer, Vasta, Partridge and Tilton won in 50.17, and the 4x400 team of Kelley, Vasta, Cordova and Cobi Warstler won in 4:09.37.

In field events, Webster got in the win column, taking the high jump at five feet and one inch, while Partridge finished second with the same height. Webster also was third in the long jump and second in the javelin.

Finally, Mallory Crane won unopposed with a triple jump of 33 feet, 1.25 inches.

On the men's side, a couple of close races had William McMichael running a 23.45 to win by .04 seconds in the 200 dash. Matt Klonowski won the 800 run in 1:57.09, besting teammate Aedan Pettit by .01 seconds.

Then in a not-so-close race, David Westcott easily won the 5,000 run in 15:06.67.

The 4x100 relay team of Drake Pence, Kristian Coleman, Cam Pollard and Justin Fox won their heat with a time of 43.70 seconds. The 4x400 team of Matthew Olszewski, Myles Parker, Brian Lief and McMichael was just short of a first place time at 3:27.73. First place Mount Vernon Nazarene ran a 3:27.36.

Jack Petrecca won the high jump at six feet. Richie Pajak reached the same height for second place.

Spencer Wilson won the hammer throw at 140 feet, 8 inches. Wilson was second in the shot put (44 feet, 7 inches) and discus throw (132 feet, 4 inches).

First-year Luke Eisnaugle finished second in the pole vault at 10 feet, 11.75 inches, and senior Cody Park was second in the javelin (137 feet, 2 inches).

The Scots will travel to Denison for its invitational on April 26.
