HIRAM, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's basketball team dropped to 0-2 in North Coast Athletic Conference play after a 74-62 defeat to Hiram College on Saturday.

Senior Anna Gibbs led the Scots with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists. She shot 6-for-17 from the floor and 3-for-7 from 3-point range and was the only Scot to reach double figures.
Awkia Tilton and Sarah Rapacz scored eight points each, while Rapacz pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds.
Madison Branch scored 17 to lead the Terriers. Josie Earnhardt scored 12 off the bench and Paris Thompson added 10 points and nine rebounds. Erica Johnson scored seven points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Wooster (3-3) led just once after scoring the opening basket when Tilton capitalized on an and-one opportunity. The only lead change came shortly after and Hiram (4-3, 1-0) expanded that lead into a 23-16 advantage after one quarter.
A 10-0 run in the second quarter tied the game at 31. Kylie Orr scored five in that span, and Kyle Croxton hit a 3-pointer with 2:42 remaining in the half to tie it.
However, in the final 2:42 Hiram would go on an 8-0 run to take a 39-31 lead at halftime.
Wooster started the third quarter with a layup from Gibbs and a 3-pointer from Croxton to cut the deficit to three, but Hiram again answered with another run to go up 46-36 with 7:29 left in the third.
Hiram kept the double-digit lead to close the third quarter at 55-44. Wooster cut the lead to single digits twice midway through the fourth but could not get any closer.
Wooster shot just 32 percent (22-for-68) from the floor compared to Hiram's 40 percent (27-for-68). The Scots were also 7-for-16 from deep (44 percent) and 11-for-17 from the foul line (65 percent).
Hiram outrebounded the Scots 51-37 and outscored the Scots in second chance points 25-7. Hiram's largest lead of 18 came with 8:36 remaining in the game.
Wooster will host Allegheny College in their next game at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
