BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Senior Anna Gibbs became the ninth Fighting Scot in program history to score 1,000 points as The College of Wooster women's basketball team rallied for a 56-55 win over Geneva College on Monday.

Gibbs finished with 11 points and scored her 1,000th point at the charity stripe in a pivotal third quarter. She was one of two Scots to finish in double figures, behind Maria Janasko's 12.
Geneva was led by a 20-point, 11-rebound performance from Callie Ford as the Golden Tornadoes squandered a 15-point lead.
The Scots had a first half to forget as they trailed 32-20 at halftime. They shot just 8-of-37 from the floor and missed their first 14 3-point attempts until they hit two in the final 40 seconds of the half.
The third quarter changed the tide of the game as the Scots won the stanza 26-13 and took their first lead at 46-45. In the third quarter alone they more than doubled their production of the first half, shooting 7-of-13 from the floor, 5-of-6 from deep and 9-of-12 from the foul line.
In the fourth quarter, Geneva created a 7-0 run to pull ahead 52-48 with 7:25 remaining. Wooster answered with a free throw from Rapacz and, later, a banked 3-pointer from atop the arc from Sarah Marion to tie the game with just under six minutes remaining.
Marion ended with nine points via three 3-pointers.
Geneva scored the next three points but did not score again in the final 3:46.
After a pair of free throws from Kylie Orr, Rapacz scored on a layup with 1:03 remaining to put Wooster ahead 56-55. She then produced a key block on the other end of the floor.
Yet, Geneva got one more chance with eight seconds remaining after Wooster let the shot clock expire. Geneva inbounded from the sideline and gave the ball to their leading scorer, but Ford traveled as Wooster held on for the win.
Wooster finished shooting 30 percent (18-for-60) from the floor, 23 percent (6-for-26) from 3-point range and 58 percent (14-for-24) at the foul line. They were narrowly outrebounded at 45-44 and outscored in the paint 26-22. However, their bench outscored Geneva's 31-10.
The Scots improve to 4-5 with the win, while Geneva drops to 2-7.
Wooster returns to action Wednesday when they travel to Mount St. Joseph University.
