Rapacz Ties Career-High with 15 Points in 76-49 Loss to 21st-Ranked DePauw

WOOSTER, Ohio – The 21st-ranked DePauw University Tigers stayed perfect in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday with a 76-49 win over The College of Wooster women's basketball team.

DePauw moved to 12-3 overall and 6-0 in the NCAC, while Wooster dropped to 4-10 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

DePauw's Maya Howard led all scorers with 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Sydney Kopp finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double.

For the Scots, Sarah Rapacz tied a career-high with 15 points. She also recorded three blocks.

Maria Janasko added 10 points and four rebounds. Anna Gibbs scored nine, and Kyle Croxton finished with five.

The Scots were even with the Tigers with a 16-16 score after the first quarter. Wooster scored 12 of their 16 points in the paint, and Rapacz scored eight of her points in the quarter.

The second quarter was all DePauw with a 24-8 run as they took a 40-24 lead at halftime. Howard scored 13 of her points in that span.

Wooster played better in the third and fourth but the second quarter deficit was too large to overcome. Croxton hit Wooster's first 3-pointer 40 seconds into the second half.

Wooster shot just 31 percent (19-for-62) from the floor and 16 percent (4-for-25) from beyond the arc. DePauw was not much better from deep at 21 percent (3-for-14) but shot 43 percent (29-for-67) from the court.

The Tigers outrebounded the Scots 53-29. They also outscored the Scots in bench points 27-16 and in fast break points 13-10. In the paint, DePauw also outscored the Scots 32-22.

Wooster will look to get back in the win column Wednesday when they travel to Oberlin College for another NCAC matchup.
