Scots Tune-Up for NCAC Championship With Match-Play Event Versus Denison

The College of Wooster women's golf team tuned up for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship with a match-play event against Denison University, during which the Big Red pulled out a narrow 3-2 win over the Fighting Scots on Sunday afternoon at the Wooster Country Club.

Sophomore Megan Gronau won her match 2-up over Denison's Megan Wong, thanks to clinching the match on the par-4, 280-yard No. 18.

Junior Kaci Carpenter was also victorious in her match. Carpenter took a four-hole lead over Megan Munn with two holes to go.

Emmy Timberlake topped sophomore Tongtong Wu 2-and-1, Sophia Alexander was up five on junior Hannah Appleman with four holes to go, and Ellie Broker collected enough wins to be up three with two to play against sophomore Lillian Dunning.

The NCAC Championship is slated to be held at Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio May 3-5.
