Senior Ellie Hudson-Heck of The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team was selected as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association National Player-of-the-Week, the Grand Lake, Colo. organization announced on Wednesday evening.
Hudson-Heck, also the North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player-of-the-Week, capped a three-game outing by matching the single-game program record with an eight-goal day against Whitman College on Sunday. She became the first Fighting Scot to score eight goals in a game in over 20 years, and just the fourth student-athlete to do so in program history.
Hudson-Heck started the week with four goals and three assists in a win at George Fox University, and followed with four goals and two assists at Linfield College.
The IWLCA selects two national players-of-the-week in each of the three NCAA divisions. The selections are announced on the "Fast Break: IWLCA College Lacrosse Weekly" show on the Lacrosse Sports Network.
Wooster is back in action Thursday when the Scots host Div. II Ursuline College (3-3) in a 4 p.m. tilt at John P. Papp Stadium.
