WOOSTER, Ohio – Wednesday night was one for the record book for The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team, which kept its unbeaten record intact with a 15-14 overtime win over Baldwin Wallace University at John P. Papp Stadium.

While it was ultimately sophomore Ashley Boersma who sent the Fighting Scots (7-0) home a winner with 2:32 left in overtime, it was senior Megan Healy making headlines all game long. The midfielder logged eight groundballs, seven draw controls, and five caused turnovers on the night. In doing so, Healy moved into the top spot on the program's all-time draw controls and groundballs lists, while matching Molly Sennett (2012-15) for the most caused turnovers in program history at 121.

Prior to Boersma's overtime heroics, Wooster was dealt its largest setback of the season at three when Baldwin Wallace's (3-4) Maddie Ray finished a feed from Hannah Albrechta to make it a 13-10 game with 14:00 left.

Sophomore Sydney Schuster pulled Wooster level at 13 with a free-position shot along the turf with 8:16 remaining, but less than a minute later, a cutting Albrechta beat the Scots to the goal to give the lead back to the Yellow Jackets.

Junior Jenny Grossmann tied the game up with 19.5 ticks left. Prior to that score, Baldwin Wallace gained possession with about 50 seconds remaining, but a costly 10-second in the crease turnover, gave the Scots plenty of time to set up Grossmann with a good look.

In fact, Wooster was the beneficiary of two Baldwin Wallace turnovers in the final minute and change, as the Scots' relentless pressure got to the Yellow Jackets late. Senior Jordan Stone, who had the assist on Boersma's game-winner, intercepted a clearing pass attempt by Baldwin Wallace 'keeper Ashleigh Hildreth. Hildreth momentarily earned redemption by stopping a Healy free-position try just inside the final minute.

Wooster dominated the extra stanza behind its aggressive defense, which included a drawn charge by senior Natalie Souleyrette. That eventually led to one final offensive look before the teams changed ends.

Boersma, Healy, and senior Emma Lawrence scored three goals each on the night, while Lawrence went on to finish with a six-point game thanks to three assists.

Sophomore Katie Shideler turned in a season-best 11 saves.

Collectively, Wooster matched its season-high with 18 caused turnovers, with 11 Scots logging at least one.

Ray scored a team-high five goals, while Brie Matrineau posted a balanced all-round line of seven draw controls, five groundballs, and four goals.

Hildreth had the game-high in saves with 15.

Wooster outshot Baldwin Wallace 39-28, did a much better job taking care of the ball evidenced by 14 fewer turnovers, and was 16-for-20 on clear attempts to Baldwin Wallace's 13-for-25.

Next, Wooster opens up North Coast Athletic Conference play with a 3 p.m. game at Wittenberg University (4-5, 0-1 NCAC) on Saturday.
