CLEVELAND, Ohio – The North Coast Athletic Conference announced the 2019 All-NCAC Women's Lacrosse team on Wednesday and on it was seven Fighting Scots including a Coach of the Year honor for Elizabeth Ford for the second consecutive year.

Senior Megan Healy led the nominations for the Scots as the NCAC Midfielder of the Year. Goalkeeper Katie Shideler joined her on the first team ballot.

Alexa Mellis and Emma Lawrence garnered second team honors, while Laura Papp, Megan Myers and Rose Taylor each earned an honorable mention.

Healy earned her third consecutive first team appearance after tallying 15 goals and 10 assists in conference games as well as a league-leading 35 ground balls. She also had 61 draw controls and 16 caused turnovers.

Overall, she scored 37 goals and tallied 14 assists and broke a number of school records including single season and career records in draw controls and groundballs and a career record in caused turnovers.

Sophomore keeper Shideler makes her first appearance on the All-NCAC squad after collecting 60 saves for a .504 save percentage in conference games. Overall, she totaled 123 saves while cruising to a 15-2 record.

Mellis and Lawrence were neck-and-neck with each other offensively this season and join one another on the second team. Mellis held the edge with 78 points (53 G, 25) to Lawrence's 77 (44 G, 33 A). Mellis was fourth in the conference in goals scored, and Lawrence was second in assists.

Mellis pulled away with the goal total in conference games but both totaled 35 points. Mellis tallied 29 goals and six assists, and Lawrence tallied 18 goals and 17 assists. Lawrence also scored her 100th career goal this season.

This was Mellis' first all-NCAC selection, while this was Lawrence's fourth overall and third second team selection.

Among honorable mentions were the defensive duo of Myers and Taylor. The two combined for 21 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers in conference games. 

Papp joined them after scoring 18 goals and dishing out 29 assists in conference games. She also scored her 100th career goal this season, finishing with 36 goals on the season.

Finally, Ford picked up her third coach of the year award and her second in a row. The Scots collected a new single season record with 16 wins and a second place finish in the NCAC at 7-1 before being ousted by Denison University in the NCAC Tournament Championship.

In her 14th season at Wooster Ford has compiled a record of 160-67-1.
