GREENCASTLE, Ind. – With six seconds remaining in the second overtime, senior Erica White found the back of the net, and The College of Wooster women's soccer team defeated DePauw University 2-1 in their first North Coast Athletic Conference game of the season.

Sophomore Miura Wiley crossed the ball to the middle of the field with about 17 seconds to go in the game. Junior Claire Davis tapped it to White, and White scored near the top of the goal box.

It was White's team-leading fifth goal of the season, and the second assist for Davis.

This was Wooster's first overtime win in five tries.

Wooster, who is now 5-1-3 overall, had gone 0-1-3 in their prior overtime games this season. DePauw, who drops to 2-6, won their only other overtime game earlier in the season when they defeated Franklin College 3-2.

The prior two goals of the game happened one after another.

Wiley assisted on junior Krissy Blanchard's first goal of the season in the 59th minute. Then in the 63rd minute, DePauw answered as Shaili Kumar scored off an assist from Gail Enright.

The Scots had a late corner kick in the second half and actually put the ball in the net but time had expired.

Wooster outshot the Tigers 14-10, while both goalkeepers made five saves. Molly Hutter improved to 4-1-2 on the year.

Wooster will continue NCAC play next Saturday when they host Ohio Wesleyan.
