WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's soccer team improved to 2-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference after a 2-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday.

Senior Erica White scored her team-high sixth goal in the 28th minute to put Wooster in the lead for good. The Scots intercepted the ball at midfield, and Claire Davis led White on the right side of the field for the assist.

The Scots took the 1-0 lead into halftime, and improved upon it in the 84th minute after junior Krissy Blanchard scored on a breakaway. Junior Morgan Mooty found Blanchard with an open field in front of her, and Blanchard scored after maneuvering the goalkeeper.

It was Blanchard's second goal of the season, and she has now scored in back-to-back games.

Wooster succeeded on both sides of the ball. They outshot the Battling Bishops 20-7 and only allowed one shot on goal, which goalkeeper Molly Hutter saved. Hutter recorded her fifth win in net this season.

For the Scots, they remain atop the conference at 2-0 and a 6-1-3 overall record. Ohio Wesleyan drops to 4-5-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Wooster will return to NCAC action Saturday when they host Wittenberg University.
