Scots Suffer First Loss of Season at Hands of No. 22 Cardinals

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's soccer team lost its first contest of the 2019 season after a 5-0 defeat to 22nd-ranked Otterbein University.

Otterbein received two-goal performances from Bella Shivley and Myiah Kelley. Shivley opened scoring in the 16th minute, scored again in the 23rd minute, and the Cardinals led 4-0 at halftime.

Otterbein entered the game sixth in Division III in scoring offense, and Shivley's two goals moved her to third in all of Division III.

Junior Molly Hutter made five saves against 10 shots on goal. Otterbein outshot the Scots 21-6. Sophomore Holly Thompson was the only one to record more than one shot, while she and junior Mila Zunich recorded the team's only shots on goal.

Wooster is now 5-1-1, and Otterbein moves to 6-1-1. Wooster returns home Saturday to take on Washington & Jefferson College.
