Scots Down Presidents 2-0 Behind Goals From Zunich and Rakoci

Brie Jarrell looks to score during Saturday's 2-0 win over Washington & Jefferson.

The College of Wooster women's soccer team got back in the win column Saturday with a 2-0 win over Washington & Jefferson College.

Junior Mila Zunich hit the game-winner just 1:08 into the game when classmate Miura Wiley found her via the cross. It was Zunich's second goal of the season, and Wiley's team-leading fourth assist.

Wooster took a 1-0 lead into halftime and scored the game's next goal all the way into the 74th minute. It was another classmate connection as senior Krissy Blanchard led Krenare Rakoci for her second goal of the season.

Wooster outshot the Presidents 21-4 and the defense held them without a shot in the second half. Junior goalkeeper Molly Hutter made three saves in the shutout, and first-year Kylie Schmitz played the final 4:10 in her first action as a Fighting Scot.

Wooster improved to 6-1-1, while Washington & Jefferson dropped to 2-6. The Scots travel to Muskingum University on Tuesday in their final non-conference game of the season.
