For the second time in five days The College of Wooster women's soccer team defeated Denison University 2-0 behind goals from juniors Mila Zunich and Miura Wiley.

Last week's game concluded the regular season, while Wednesday's semifinal in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament advanced the Scots to championship game.

Early second half goals were the difference on Saturday, but on Wednesday, Wooster entered halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The Scots set the tone just eight minutes into the game when Wiley found Zunich in front of the goal for a score. Wiley outran her defender on the right side of the field and sent a late cross in as all Zunich had to do was tap the ball in.

Wiley then scored herself in the 41st minute after she collected a rebound off the post which came off a header from senior Claire Davis. Davis was credited with an assist.

For Zunich and Wiley, the goals were their sixth of the year to put them in a tie for first on the team to join sophomore Holly Thompson.

Neither team had a clear advantage on paper. Wooster outshot the Big Red 13-10, and both teams took three corner kicks.

Junior Molly Hutter made five saves to record her seventh straight shutout. Her counterpart, Patil Tcholakian made four saves.

Wooster improves to 13-2-3 overall while Denison concludes its season at 8-7-4.

Wooster advances to the championship game for the second straight season. They will meet DePauw University, who defeated Kenyon College 2-1 late Wednesday. The championship is set for 7 p.m. Saturday at DePauw.
