DELAWARE, Ohio -- The College of Wooster women's tennis team improved to 9-4 after a 7-2 win over Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday.
Two close doubles wins set the tone in this one. Qingyue Li and Meklit Minassie won at the No. 2 flight 8-7 (7-5) and Emma Saxton and Shannon Sertz won at No. 3 8-6.
Wooster then won the 1-5 singles matches.
Li headlined with the No. 1 singles win over Lauren Corcoran 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (11-9). Sarah Duran won 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot, and Laura Haley won 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) at the No. 3 flight.
Minassie won at the No. 4 flight after a first set retirement. Sertz won 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 5 flight, while Saxton lost a tough one in the No. 6 spot 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8).
Next up, Wooster hosts Westminster (Pa.) on April 12.
