COLUMBUS, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's tennis team capped its fall season with a pair of dual-match wins, as the Fighting Scots cruised past Mount Vernon Nazarene University 8-1 and Capital University 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at Wolfe Park.

Wooster (2-0) senior Qingyue Li won all three of her matches on the day. Against Mount Vernon Nazarene, Li teamed up with classmate Shannon Sertz to down the Cougars' Casey Clark and Hannah Fugate 8-7 (2) at No. 1 doubles. In the nightcap versus Capital, Li and first-year Kathryn Materick topped Addison Hasselbach and Aubry Pletcher 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. In singles versus Capital, Li rallied back to top Madison Watt 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-3), in what marked the art history major's 46th career singles win. That tied her with Estela Pereira (1987-80) for the third-most on the program's career list.

Materick and Sertz emerged as quadruple winners on the day. Materick's afternoon started with an 8-1 win while playing with first-year Ishika Gupta at No. 2 doubles against MVNU. In singles, Materick won 6-1, 6-2 over MVNU's Alyson Landis at No. 3, and then against Capital, she didn't drop a game when squaring off with Hasselbach in the third flight. Sertz and Gupta won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles versus Capital, while in singles, Sertz dropped one game over four sets in the second flight.

Other Wooster wins in contested matches included first-year Amber Dinchman (6-2, 6-0) at No. 4 singles versus MVNU, first-year Abby Kushner Benson (6-2, 6-2) at No. 6 singles against MVNU, Dinchman and sophomore Emma Saxton (8-3) at No. 3 doubles against MVNU, and senior Mahlet Zemedkun (6-0, 6-2) at No. 4 singles against Capital.
