Hoover, Pettit Claim Top Spots in Twilight 5K

The College of Wooster cross country teams competed in their annual Twilight 5K Challenge at John P. Papp Stadium on Friday.

In their final tune up before next weekend's NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, the Scots claimed the top spot in both men's and women's races in the non-scoring event. Sophomore Isabelle Hoover won on the women's side with a time of 18:11, and senior Aedan Pettit raced to a 15:45.6 to win on the men's side.

Sophomore Kayla Bertholf finished in second behind Hoover at 18:33. Wooster would next come in at sixth and seventh thanks to sophomores Marian Overfield (19:13) and Rachel Osterhouse (19:22).

Rounding out in the top 15 for Wooster was first-year Abigail Rice in 11th (19:42) and junior Zoe Covey in 14th (19:46).

For the men, senior Miki Rae finished in the top five with a fourth-place finish with a time of 16:35. Sophomore Alexander DeLong ran a 16:47.6 for seventh.

Junior Noah Crane was Wooster's other top-15 performer after running a 16:54.3 for 12th place. Jackson Todd (17:09.4) and Grant Sprague (17:12.3) finished just outside in 16th and 17th, respectively.

Next for the Scots, the Great Lakes Regional is hosted by Calvin University and will take place next Saturday.
