Hoover Earns All-Region Honors at NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional Championships

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Isabelle Hoover capped her sophomore year with all-region honors, while The College of Wooster women's cross country team placed 18th and the men were 33rd at Saturday's NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional Championships, which were hosted at Calvin College's Gainey Athletic Complex.

Hoover's time of 22:18.92 was 29th overall, placing her well within the all-region qualifiers, which are extended to the top-35 finishers. Sophomore Kayla Bertholf was next at 22:35.47, and she finished in 42nd-place. Sticking with the sophomores, Rachel Osterhouse was the third Wooster harrier to cross. She was 141st at 24:45.44.

All five of Wooster's scoring harriers placed within the top 150. Senior Audrey Cordova was 143rd at 24:47.35, while first-year Kate Larson was 148th at 24:57.39.

Senior Aedan Pettit was Wooster's top finisher on the men's side. He closed his collegiate career with a time of 26:31.97, which was good for 136th-place. Classmate Miki Rae was next at 27:41.15, and that placed him 196th. Junior Noah Crane rounded out the finishers in the top 200. He crossed at 27:41.78.

Junior Jackson Todd and sophomore Alexander DeLong rounded out Wooster's scoring contingent. Todd navigated the course in 27:58.70, while DeLong crossed at 28:05.70. They placed 205th and 209th, respectively.

Host Calvin College won the 37-team men's race, while Otterbein University's Chase Hampton was the men's medalist at 24:02.20. John Carroll University won the 34-team women's race, with Trine University's Evie Bultemeyer breaking the tape at 20:58.12.

Due to course conditions, the men's race was shortened by approximately 500 meters, while the women's race was shortened by approximately 400 meters.
