For the fifth straight year, The College of Wooster shattered its record for North Coast Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll qualifiers, as 164 Fighting Scots made the grade for this year's list, which was announced by the league office on Wednesday. Wooster's 164 honorees are nine more than last year's total.

To be honored, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore on an active roster in a sport sponsored by the NCAC and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. This is the 10th year for the NCAC Academic Honor Roll, and Wooster now has 1,102 all-time honorees.

The Scots' contingent is comprised of 65 juniors, 55 sophomores, and 44 seniors. Three programs – women's cross country (85 percent), field hockey (80 percent), and women's soccer (80 percent) – had at least 80 percent of eligible team members qualify for the NCAC Academic Honor Roll this year, while women's tennis (71 percent), women's indoor and outdoor track & field (71 percent), and women's lacrosse (70 percent) gave Wooster a remarkable seven teams with at least 70 percent of eligible team members making the grade. Twelve of Wooster's 23 varsity teams had at least 50 percent of eligible team members qualify with men's golf (60 percent), women's swimming & diving (60 percent), volleyball (60 percent), baseball (59 percent), and men's soccer (50 percent) rounding out the list. Women's indoor and outdoor track & field led the way with 17 qualifiers, while women's soccer (16), men's lacrosse (15), women's lacrosse (14), men's indoor and outdoor track & field (14), baseball (13), men's soccer (13), women's cross country (11), and men's swimming & diving (10) gave the College 11 programs with at least 10 honorees.

On an individual level, alumni Isabelle Hoover (cross country) and Noah Golovan (swimming & diving) headline Wooster's 2022-23 academic achievements as a $10,000 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient. Wooster now has 28 all-time NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipients, with 14 of them coming since the start of the 2017-18 academic year. Football's Lake Barrett, Matt Pardi, and Matt Ulishney were all voted to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® team in the fall, marking the first time a Wooster trio from the same team made the team. At-large and cross country and track & field Academic All-America® teams are slated to be announced in the coming weeks.

Noteworthy, Wooster had the second-most honorees among the nine NCAC institutions and two affiliates. Kenyon College's 176 honorees led the way, while in total, nearly 1,200 student-athletes qualified across the conference. View the full list of honorees here.
