Senior Salute: Dominic Stilliana

Dominic Stilliana Sidebar Q&A Throughout the spring semester, we are honoring our senior student-athletes with a "Senior Salute" series. Today's featured senior is Dominic Stilliana, a communication studies major from Youngstown, Ohio. Stilliana is a member of the baseball team. 

Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I came here for a great education and to be a part of a great baseball program.

Q: What does it mean to you to be a Fighting Scot student-athlete?
A: I get to represent the College in more ways than one. I am not only a student who keeps good grades; I am also representing the baseball program.

Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: The friends I have made from the baseball team and at the College. Specifically, our Florida trips and every weekend we spent together in Gault Schoolhouse room 306.

Q: What's the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: I have made friends that will last a lifetime.  

Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: The entire communication studies department, especially Dr. (Michelle) Johnson and Dr. (Rohini) Singh. Both professors have pushed me to complete my best work and strive for excellence. They were always there for help and would help me become the best student I can be.

Q: Which other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people/resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Coach (Barry) Craddock and Coach (Matthew) Johnson helped me become the best player I can be. They have taught me lessons in life and helped me become a man.

Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am doing a marketing audit on the PGA Tour's cause-marketing campaigns. I am specifically looking at their promotional advertisements and the causes the PGA aligns with.

Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: Our spring break trips to Florida are the best. The trips are a great bonding experience for the whole team in great weather.

Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what is one piece of advice you would give your first-year (freshman) self?
A: Always say yes. Never be afraid to make new friends or never say no to be with them. It goes fast.
