Multi-Hit Parade Lands Brown as NCAC Athlete of the Week

Dean Brown, Wooster baseball Dean Brown, The College of Wooster baseball team's third baseman, had multiple hits in each of the Fighting Scots' three wins last week, and on Monday, he was tabbed as the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.

Brown hit .636 (7-for-11) with four RBI, three walks, a home run, a double, and a run scored, as the Scots improved to 16-8, 5-3 NCAC on the year. He hit a two-run homer against regional rival Case Western Reserve University as part of a 2-for-3 showing, then followed that up with a 5-for-8 doubleheader on Saturday at Wabash College. Brown had two hits in game one of the Wabash twin bill, then tallied three in the nightcap.

This is a third time a member of the baseball team has earned NCAC Athlete of the Week honors this spring and the first as a hitter.

Wooster is back in action against Oberlin College (6-17, 2-6 NCAC) at noon on Tuesday, April 19 at Art Murray Field.
