Anthony Pitches Way to NCAC Award

Devin Anthony, Wooster baseball The College of Wooster's Devin Anthony was brilliant in his first collegiate start, and his eight innings of four-hit shutout baseball against Arcadia University stood out within the North Coast Athletic Conference and led to Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday.

Anthony, who helped lead the Fighting Scots in what marked Barry Craddock's 250th win as a collegiate head coach, did not allow a Knight to reach scoring position until the eighth inning. He struck out five in the 5-1 win and set down the side in order in the first, second, and fourth innings.

Anthony is the fourth Fighting Scot to earn weekly honors this season and the first to do so from the NCAC. First-year Ryan Kramer was the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's co-Rookie of the Month for February and senior Dane Camphausen and junior Grant Mitchell have both been voted to D3baseball.com's Team of the Week this season.

Wooster, which is playing in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational this week, returns to action against Lawrence University at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22.
