Camphausen Honored by NCBWA, D3baseball.com

Dane Camphausen, Wooster baseball D3baseball.com Team of the Week

The College of Wooster's Dane Camphausen was voted the honorable mention National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III Hitter of the Week and to D3baseball.com's Team of the Week, as announced by the respective organizations on Wednesday.

Camphausen slashed .579/.667/1.368 during a five-game stretch for the Fighting Scots. He went 11-for-19 on the week with 11 RBI, 10 runs scored, five walks, four home runs, and three doubles. Camphausen became the 15th player in program history to reach 30 career home runs, hitting the milestone in Saturday's doubleheader with Wittenberg University. He hit three home runs during Tuesday's doubleheader sweep over Kenyon College and is now at 10 round-trippers for the year.

Camphausen, who leads the team with a .400 average (34-for-85), has hit safely in 10 straight games, with four multi-hit efforts during the stretch. He had multiple hits in four of Wooster's games last week, including a pair of three-hit efforts. He had seven RBI and scored seven times during the Kenyon doubleheader and has now driven in at least one run in seven consecutive games.

This is Camphausen's third time appearing on D3baseball.com's Team of the Week and he joins junior infielder Grant Mitchell as a two-time honoree this spring. Camphausen is the second Scot to be honored by the NCBWA this spring, with first-year Ryan Kramer scoring NCBWA Div. III Rookie of the Month laurels for February, before the organization transitioned to its traditional weekly award criteria.

Wooster (9-13, 4-2 North Coast Athletic Conference) returns to action at No. 13 Denison University (19-5, 6-0 NCAC) on Saturday, April 15. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for noon.
