Kramer's Hot Stick in League Action Results in NCAC Honor

Ryan Kramer, Wooster baseball First-year first baseman Ryan Kramer had quite the week, leading The College of Wooster baseball team with a .533 (8-for-15) average and 10 RBI over a five-game stretch, and on Monday, the smooth-swinging righty garnered North Coast Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week honors.

Kramer slashed .533/.625/.800 during a 4-1 week for the Fighting Scots, a stretch which included NCAC sweeps over Ohio Wesleyan University and DePauw University. Kramer drew seven walks, scored four times, and had a homer and double in addition to his team-leading mark in RBI.

Kramer had four two-hit affairs, including when he knocked in four runs during an 11-7 game-two win at DePauw on Saturday. He reached based safely at least twice in all five games and plated three runs during an 11-1 win over Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III co-Rookie of the Month for February is the second Scot to earn NCAC weekly honors this spring. First-year Devin Anthony earned the pitching award on March 20 following eight innings of four-hit shutout baseball in his first collegiate start.

Wooster renews one of its old Ohio Athletic Conference rivalries on Tuesday, April 25, when the University of Mount Union (21-11) visits Art Murray Field for a 4 p.m. game.
