Devin Anthony, Eli Westrick, Dane Camphausen, Wooster baseball 2023 All-NCAC Baseball Team

Junior Eli Westrick's tremendous season resulted in first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference laurels, while The College of Wooster baseball team's leading hitter was joined on the all-conference team by senior first baseman Dane Camphausen and first-year pitcher Devin Anthony, who were both third-team selections. The NCAC announced the all-conference team on Thursday.

Westrick, now a two-time All-NCAC honoree, led Wooster with a .418 average (71-for-170) and was tops on the team in runs (39) and doubles (14). The junior had 26 RBI, 23 walks, four triples, and three homers on his 2023 stat line and made just three errors in 181 chances for a .983 fielding percentage. Westrick's 71 hits are the second-most in the NCAC and rank 22nd nationally, while his average is fourth-best in the NCAC and within the top-100 nationally. Westrick had 21 multi-hit games on the year, and his best stretch came between April 16 and April 22, going 15-for-24 during that five-game stretch with seven RBI, six runs scored, two homers, and a double.

Camphausen, a two-time All-NCAC honoree, was having an all-region worthy season before suffering a season-ending hand injury on a hit by pitch at Denison University on April 15. Prior to that, the star first baseman hit .378 (34-for-90) with 29 runs, 29 RBI, 10 homers, and 14 walks. He became the 15th Wooster great to reach 30 career home runs, hitting the milestone during a doubleheader against Wittenberg University on April 8. Camphausen was named the honorable mention National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III Hitter of the Week and was named to D3baseball.com's Team of the Week after slashing .579/.667/1.368 during a five-game stretch spanning April 3-9. Camphausen went 11-for-19 that week with 11 RBI, 10 runs scored, five walks, four home runs, and three doubles.

Anthony, a two-time NCAC Pitcher of the Week this spring, went 5-1 with a 3.99 ERA over 47 1/3 innings pitched. The right-hander appeared in 10 games, eight of which were starts, and he struck out 42. Anthony's debut start was a dandy, as he fired eight innings of four-hit shutout baseball against Arcadia University, a game where head coach Barry Craddock won his 250th career game between Wooster and Denison University. Anthony fired eight innings of two-hit shutout baseball against Hiram College before surrendering a run on two more hits in the ninth inning.

Wooster went 11-5 in league action this spring and qualified for the four-team NCAC Tournament.
