The College of Wooster's Andrew Armile, Lake Barrett, Paul Thomas Fischer, Bryce Kamphues, and Kobe Nadu have been granted membership to the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society for the 2023-24 academic year, as announced by the organization on Wednesday. The Hampshire Honor Society is annually made up of seniors from all collegiate divisions who were a starter or significant contributor, achieved a minimum 3.2 GPA, and have concluded their playing career at Wooster.

Armile's senior year was off to a promising start with four tackles in the season-opener at Wilmington College before the linebacker sustained a season-ending injury. As a junior, he was named to College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District® Team and was a member of the defensive backfield rotation. In 2023, Armile finished with 21 tackles, six of which came in the season-opener at Geneva College. As a sophomore, Armile ranked seventh on the team with 46 tackles.

Barrett, a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient, three-time CSC Academic All-American®, and NCAC Special Teams Player of the Year as a senior, earned all-conference honors in four separate seasons. The Fred Mitchell Award finalist graduated as Wooster's all-time leader with 29 field goals and is second all-time with a 76 percent success rate on field goals. Barrett's 99.4 success rate on extra points rates as No. 1 in program history and he went 155-for-156 over his career, making the final 134 extra-point kicks he attempted.

Fischer, a CSC Academic All-District® selection, transitioned back to the defensive side of the ball as a senior and played in all 10 games with four starts. He finished the year with 34 tackles and tied for the NCAC lead with two fumble recoveries and ranked fourth with three interceptions. As a running back, Fischer logged 50 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in 2022. As a sophomore, Fischer totaled 33 tackles, with eight coming at Oberlin College.

Kamphues, a four-year starter on the offensive line, capped his career as a second-team All-NCAC performer. The two-time CSC Academic All-District® honoree was a two-year starter at center after beginning his career at right guard. He helped Wooster roll up 627 yards of offense against Kenyon College as a senior, marking the most by the Scots in a game since 2005, while the team's 308 rushing yards were the most since a 2014 game against Allegheny College. Wooster's 138.9 yards per game on the ground in 2023 marked the team's top average in a decade.

Nadu, a mainstay starter at linebacker logged 47 tackles on the year and had two for loss, one sack, and a fumble recovery. He made eight tackles and had a sack at Wabash College and recovered a fumble in win over The University of Olivet. As a junior, Nadu finished with 48 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, and a forced fumble. That year, Nadu ranked third on the team in tackles for loss.

Thirty-five Wooster student-athletes have earned membership in the prestigious society in the last nine years.

Just shy of 2,000 players from 339 colleges and universities are part of this year's Hampshire Honor Society.
