In a defensive battle Sunday, The College of Wooster dropped a 1-0 decision at DePauw University during the schools' non-conference field hockey match-up, but the Fighting Scots can still call it a successful weekend trip to western Ohio and Indiana as they defeated arch-rival and league foe Wittenberg University 3-1 on Saturday.
Just 10 total shots were credited in Sunday's game, eight by DePauw (5-0), and the Tigers' goal with 15:24 left in regulation held up as the lone score.
For Wooster (2-3), Liz Plumley tallied one save while Clare Nelson-Johnson and Stephanie Standera each had a shot attempt.
The Scots hope to bounce back on Wednesday night at Washington & Jefferson College (2-1).
