Artman's Two Goals Fuel 4-2 Victory Against Kenyon

Amanda Artman chipped in a pair of goals to lead The College of Wooster to its third-consecutive win in North Coast Athletic Conference action, a 4-2 triumph over Kenyon College on Sunday afternoon at Gambier, Ohio.

The Scots (3-4, 3-1 NCAC) struck first off of a penalty corner, when Amanda Graeser delivered a strike to Kate Valora, who quickly found Amanda Artman for the game's initial score. Clare Nelson-Johnson added some insurance with an unassisted goal at 30:25 that gave Wooster a 2-0 lead.

Kenyon (3-4, 2-1 NCAC) was outshot 25-13 on the day, but it cut its deficit to one when Sarah McNee rattled the cage just a 1:09 before the break.

Artman and Valora reversed roles early in the second period, as the former dished an assist to the latter that made it 3-1 Wooster. At the 50:26 mark, Isabelle Howes recorded her first point of the season, an assist on Artman's second goal, giving the Scots the cushion it needed to secure a win.

With her five-point effort, Artman surpassed the 200-point milestone for her career, and now has 202 points (82 goals, 38 assists).

Wooster will be back in action Thursday at 4:30 p.m. when it travels to Ohio Wesleyan University (4-2, 3-1 NCAC) for a rematch from last season's NCAC Tournament finals.
