A balanced scoring attack lifted The College of Wooster field hockey team to another victory Wednesday, as five different Fighting Scots accounted for goals and they won their fifth consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference game, this time 6-1 at Oberlin College.

Wooster (5-4, 5-1 NCAC) was in control from the outset, putting 15 shots on the Oberlin cage without allowing an attempt on the other side of the field during the opening half. Three of those shots found their mark, starting just 3:32 into the action when freshman Nikki Sever scored her second career goal, assisted by Eileen Barrer. About eight minutes later it was Barrer slapping one in off a feed from Amanda Artman, and later in the half, an Artman attempt was rebounded in by Isabelle Howes, marking the sophomore's initial goal this fall and the second of her career.

It remained 3-0 through halftime and the Scots would score the first three goals of the second as well. A little more than 18 minutes into the stanza, Wooster was awarded a penalty stroke and Artman converted it to push the margin to four. The fifth and sixth goals would come during a 6:16 stretch late in the game, first with Sever tallying another and then Barrer assisting Anna Divis. Primarily a defender, it was Divis' first collegiate goal.

Oberlin (4-4, 1-4 NCAC) would crack the scoreboard with just 2:06 left to prevent the shutout. Defensively for the Scots, freshman standout Josie Rey was credited with two defensive saves from her back position.

Next, Wooster will get a visit from rival Wittenberg University (6-2, 3-1 NCAC) this Saturday afternoon in a key conference match-up, starting at 1 p.m.
