Kate Valora, Clare Nelson-Johnson, and Eileen Barrer each scored during a 5:33 span in the second half, turning The College of Wooster's one-goal lead into a five-point cushion, as the Fighting Scots dropped Ithaca College 5-2 in a non-conference meeting Monday afternoon at Ithaca, N.Y.

It was the Bombers (5-7) that got on the scoreboard first, as Tracy Rivas deflected a shot off the right post and into the cage to give Ithaca a 1-0 lead at 10:31. Wooster (9-5) eventually got even when Amanda Artman assisted on a Nikki Sever goal that knotted the game. It was Sever's sixth goal this season.

Artman scored her 93rd career goal minutes before the break to give the Scots a 2-1 advantage, but it was a three-goal run during the second half that broke the game open. Valora drilled a 15-yard shot into the cage at 42:46, and Nelson-Johnson and Barrer followed suit with their own scores moments later that all but sealed the outcome.

Goalkeeer Liz Plumley recorded eight saves, while her counterpart Kelly Singleton made 10 saves in the setback. Nelson-Johnson's goal marked her first time scoring in back-to-back games, with the previous goal being Sunday's game-winner in double overtime.

The Scots will be back in North Coast Athletic Conference action Wednesday when they visit Denison University (6-9, 4-5 NCAC) at 4:30 p.m.
