WOOSTER, Ohio – Amanda Artman recorded her 11th career hat trick, and The College of Wooster field hockey team notched a 7-0 win over St. Vincent College in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at John P. Papp Stadium.

The Fighting Scots (11-5) were extremely effective on penalty corners, as they turned four of their 18 attempts into goals, including one by Artman on a Stephanie Standera assist just 5:06 into the first half. Then seconds later, Wooster rushed down into Bearcats' (2-12) territory and earned yet another corner attempt, this time resulting in a Kate Valora-to-Standera score.

Eileen Barrer converted on a penalty stroke at 22:26 that gave Wooster a 3-0 lead, and kept the Scots perfect (6-of-6) on penalty stroke attempts this season.

Wooster wasted no time adding to its cushion coming out of the break, as Artman sprinted past a slew of defenders and beat the 'keeper just 10 seconds into the period to push the score to 4-0. She scored again about 10 minutes later to earn a hat trick, increasing her season goal total to a team-leading 22.

Nikki Sever and Christine Goglia went in on a goal later in the half, as Sever drove into the open field forcing the goalkeeper to challenge her, and at the last possible moment she dished to Goglia on the right side who one-touched in the uncontested shot. Nina Dine added a late score which completed the 7-0 rout.

Goalkeeper Liz Plumley needed to make just one save during her 59:38 protecting Wooster's net, while Meredith Farley made four saves during the game's final 10:22. St. Vincent's Megan Vargo tallied 10 saves in the setback, and her classmate Emma Leonard kept an additional Wooster goal off the board with a defensive save.

The Scots will get back to their North Coast Athletic Conference schedule Thursday when they host Oberlin College (5-9, 2-8 NCAC) at 4 p.m.
