The College of Wooster's offense had a breakout game against Transylvania College, as the Fighting Scots steadily pulled away for a 6-1 victory Sunday afternoon in a field hockey matchup at Lexington, Ky.

The Scots (2-2) had struggled offensively in their first three games this season, but five different players rattled the cage in this contest, including Isabelle Howes, who scored on an Anna Divis assist to give Wooster an early 1-0 lead.

Transylvania (2-2) netted the equalizer when Ruth Kloha scored at 22:00, but then Wooster tacked on goals from Laura German and Nikki Sever late in the first half to build a 3-1 cushion at the break.

In the second half, Wooster's defense locked in and didn't allow Transylvania to attempt a single shot. Meanwhile, Clare Nelson-Johnson, who scored the game-winner against Ohio Wesleyan University just 24 hours prior, scored a pair of goals early in the half to push Wooster's advantage to 5-1. Maddie Hart added the game's final tally on an assist from Kim Palagyi.

Liz Plumley started and played almost the entire game at goalkeeper, notching four saves along the way. Transylvania's 'keeper, Sara Aschbacher, recorded 15 saves in the setback.

Wooster will look to make it three in a row when it hosts Kenyon College Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
