WOOSTER, Ohio – With less than three minutes remaining in regulation, Anjela Galimberti ripped a shot past the goalkeeper from just inside the shooting circle to propel The College of Wooster to a dramatic 2-1 victory over North Coast Athletic Conference opponent Ohio Wesleyan University on Wednesday at John P. Papp Stadium.

The game got started roughly 30 minutes late, as a weather alert put the action on hold temporarily, but the Fighting Scots (1-2, 1-0 NCAC) took an early lead once things eventually got underway.

Wooster scored on the first shot attempt of the game, when Taylor Thorp dished to Kayla O'Connor for a goal at the 9:12 mark that gave the Scots a 1-0 advantage.

The Battling Bishops (2-2, 0-1 NCAC) answered back late in the first half on an unassisted tally from Haley Savoie, which tied the game at 1-1 heading into the break.

It didn't appear either team was going to rattle the cage in the second half, although the Bishops started knocking on the door with six shot attempts over a 10-minute span towards the end of the stanza. Carrie Mount and the Wooster defense weathered the storm, though, and then made the big play it needed on the offensive end.

The Scots earned a late penalty corner and made it count, as Kerry O'Connor delivered a perfect ball to Galimberti, and the latter quickly settled and fired a shot into the back of the cage to give Wooster the 2-1 victory. It was Galimberti's third career goal, and second this season via an O'Connor assist.

Mount made five saves, including four in the second half.

The Scots will look to make it two in a row when they host archrival Wittenberg University (1-3, 0-0 NCAC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
