Goals In Pairs Lead Kenyon Past Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster field hockey team dropped a 6-0 tilt to Kenyon College on Saturday afternoon at John P. Papp Stadium, as the Fighting Scots kicked off the second round of North Coast Athletic Conference regular season action.

The first meeting, which saw the two squads engage in a defensive tilt over the opening 60 minutes, finished with a flurry of goals, three by the Ladies during the final 10 minutes of play. The "quick, consecutive strikes" theme carried over to Saturday.

Kenyon's (10-1, 7-0 NCAC) Katelyn Hutchinson scored the contest's first goal just over 13 minutes in, re-directing a penalty corner shot into the cage, then teammate Abbey Roswell extended the lead to two just 75 seconds later.

The Ladies struck twice more before the half to take a 4-0 advantage, with those scores occurring 3:17 apart.

Kenyon rattled the cage twice in the second half for the final margin.

Danielle Slichenmyer finished with six saves on the afternoon for Wooster (2-11, 1-7 NCAC), while Emma Roderick added a defensive stop.

The Scots are idle until a 5:30 p.m. home contest against Earlham College (3-8, 2-6 NCAC) on Friday.
